(This is the unmaintained version with bugs.)
Overall, I'd say it's okay but not great. For all the fancy scripting involved, it didn't lock up.
With a group of players who never played Silent Hill, finishing this map took 6 hours, which is long but too long without being able to save and continue. At least in Left 4 Dead, the player can let a bot take over the character and take a break.
A few things to be careful about on this map:
- The streets don't make sense: Finney Street will be a north-south road but become east-west at another point in the map, which might be normal for Silent Hill, so the map isn't helpful as one would expect from real life.
- While looking for a way to progress, a teammate had jumped into a plausible-looking pit which the fall would be survivable; however, it had a kill brush.
- Picking up key items or activating triggers will spawn multiple special infected on top of the players.
- The progress screen can misrepresent the which mission is the rescue mission.
If I had either Left 4 Dead 3 or more custom maps to look forward to, I would appreciate non-linear maps where the player might need to read a map to get to certain places.
