Capcom is patching older games with a new DRM called Enigma, which isn't to "ensure sales" but to prevent user-created modifications. A suspected cause is that a nude Chun Li mod for Street Fighter 6 appeared in Corner2corner. an online tournament hosted on Twitch.

Corner2Corner wish to address a recent mistake made on stream in which a graphical mod was accidentally left on for a few seconds in our recent tournament.

Some news stories have incorrectly blamed one of the players - this is NOT the case, it was our hosts PC streaming the match and his responsibility.

I find it unacceptable to retroactively add DRM to pre-existing games and harder to trust game companies if more cases like this arise.

I paid some attention to Capcom games; however, to "vote with my wallet", "put my money where my mouth is", or "stick to my morals", I would probably have to swear off Capcom games as I did for Blizzard games.

What gets me about the whole “offensive to public order and morals” thing, which is what I believe this entire crusade against mods boils down to, is that Capcom is acting like it hasn’t been selling sex for years.

I am sure Capcom cares about having a monopoly on creating obscene images of its characters. That is categoralically what copyright is. Though I hardly expect the average game writer or journalist to handle the topic of modding, copyright, and the rights of users.
